In a post on Twitter, former Jerusalem Mayor and MK for Likud, Nir Barkat announced that the National Infrastructure Committee approved plans for the construction of a cable car from the old train station to the old city.
"Throughout the generations and for thousands of years, Jews have made pilgrimages to Jerusalem. In recent days, the National Infrastructure Committee approved the plan that we began in 2016 for a cable car that will take millions of visitors to the Western Wall. Jerusalem will be renewed, the State of Israel will be renewed. Happy Shavuot," wrote Barkat.
