78 percent of the adult Jewish public in Israel supports marriage (55 percent) for same-sex couples or registration of their relationship (23 percent), according to a survey conducted by the Smith Institute for the Hiddush organization for freedom of religion and equality.
Registration of a relationship is not marriage but confers rights and obligations similar to marriage.
