Mayor Ron Kobi of Tiberias and social activist Semion Grafman, whose Bitachon Chevrati (Social Security) Party won a few votes in the last election, are examining the possibility of establishing a party that will fight for secular votes on the right.

Interviewed by Channel 13 Television, Grafman told of a survey that found that 71 percent prefer Kobi to Chairman Avigdor Liberman of the Yisrael Beytenu Party. Kobi said he was convinced that the secular public is waiting for a party that will be "a counter to the haredi-religious," and said that the existence of such a party would help Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in forming the next coalition. The two said no decision on running has been reached.
