State Comptroller Yosef Shapiro has criticized the running of the Jerusalem municipality in a special report for Jerusalem Day.
Among things noted by the comptroller was the lack of satisfaction by residents on the cleanliness of the city despite the millions of shekels spent to address the situation, which also harms tourism. He also cited the municipality's reliance on budget transfers from the state and the decline in the capital's population.
