Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu delivered a speech at the State Memorial ceremony in memory of Ethiopian Jews who died on their way to Israel on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.

"Dear friends, I also give my words to the family of Abra Mengistu, who, like our other captives and missing people, we won't give up until we return them - and we will return them."

Netanyahu added, "I also deal with the phenomena that harm Ethiopian immigrants, such as disgusting and racist harassment, and we are resolutely fighting manifestations of racism and discrimination. The government unit for coordinating the struggle against racism deals with every complaint about discriminatory treatment. Under no circumstances will we tolerate such phenomena in the democratic Jewish state. You deserve egalitarian and fair treatment."
