Chairman Ofer Berkovitch of the Hitorrerut (Awakening) faction on the Jerusalem City Council has attacked Mayor Moshe Lion ahead of the city's Gay Pride Parade.
Berkovitch said, "The Lion coalition continues to harm the delicate balances in Jerusalem, and is rejecting, today, the support of the Open House [homosexual center]. This is an illegal decision that contravenes the Supreme Court ruling. That is not how to run a complex city. Every community has the right to receive a budget in Jerusalem. Jerusalem must be everyone's. We will fight to change the decision."
