Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Thursday, "The Islamic Revolution’s victory and the establishment of the Islamic Republic was a miracle in the bipolarity of Capitalism and Communism. It was like the Israelites crossing the Nile [sic] with Moses and his stick."
Spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon of Israel's Foreign Ministry responded, "Moses led the Israelites from slavery to freedom,to independence in Israel. Zionism, you know. Your regime imposes slavery on the Iranian people and feeds on an irrational hatred of the very people you pretend to admire Your regime is morally twisted and so is your comparison."
