Member of Knesset Amir Ohana (Likud) said in an interview with Israel Defense Forces Radio that "without the immunity law, there will be no governance, and when you allow the justice system to act as it wishes, you are thwarting the democratic process."

The bill would keep the prime minister and Knesset members from being prosecuted while in office. Ohana also said: "The [Supreme Court] override clause is democracy, and the last word in a democracy must be that of the public through its elected officials. The "checks and balances" must be mutual."
