In his speech before the UN, US Special Envoy to the UN, Jason Greenblatt attacked Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), saying:
"t's simply unacceptable Hamas & PIJ continue to target Israeli communities, including hospitals & schools, in a cynical attempt to extract concessions. It's simply unacceptable Hamas & PIJ continue to use civilians in Gaza, including children, as human shields."
