In a post on Twitter, MK Miki Zohar (Likud) defended the proposed immunity law, writing:
"In order to balance the legal authorities, to restore the High Court of Justice to its natural size and to strengthen democracy - immunity is required to protect us against assassination attempts. Remember Raful, Kahalani, and Neeman? The immunity will protect us by enacting the passage of the reinforcement clause, which will prevent the High Court of Justice from changing the nationality law and enable us to legislate the deportation of the families of terrorists and more."
