    Germany: Significant increase in anti-Semitic incidents

    According to figures published by the German Interior Ministry, 1,799 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded in the country last year.

    This is a 20-percent increase compared to 2017. According to German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, 89.1 percent of anti-Semitic incidents were committed by local right-wing extremists. There were 7,701 racist incidents in general, a 19.7-percent increase from 2017.
