Construction on 2,100 new housing units began in Judea and Samaria during 2018, according to the "Annual Settlement Report", published by Peace Now on Tuesday.

The group, which opposes Israel's presence beyond the 1949 Armistice Line, says that's nine percent above the annual average since 2009. It based its figures - which are higher than those of the Central Bureau of Statistics - on aerial photography. Peace Now said the population grew by 120,518 between 2009 and 2017, with population figures for 2018 to be published in September.
