The Haifa District Attorney's Office has submitted a precedent-setting indictment to the Magistrates Traffic Court in Hadera, charging an electric-bicycle rider from Hadera with negligent homicide for hitting a pedestrian in a pedestrian crossing on October 16, 2017.
According to the indictment, the defendant rode an electric bicycle on Rambam Street in Hadera at a speed of 24 kilometers per hour. He hit 89-year-old Pyotr Alpayev who died in the hospital a month later.
