Meretz Chairwoman Tamar Zandberg has reacted to a report by Channel 12 News that the United States is expected to agree to the application of Israeli sovereignty over Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria, saying, "The emerging plan is a reward for the government of annexation and punishment for Israeli citizens."
Zandberg explained, "Annexation is against the Israeli interest, the burning of the region is a disaster for Israel and the vision of annexation is destructive. The Israeli government must take care of the citizens of Israel, annexation is precisely the opposite interest. The Israeli government must take care of the citizens of Israel.
