Member of Knesset Yisrael Eichler (United Torah Judaism) has called on the faction members to demand in coalition talks that two-way public-transportation lanes be canceled in favor of public-transportation lanes at the right side of streets.
The call comes against the backdrop of about 70 accidents on Sderot Golda Meir in Jerusalem and Derech Jabotinsky in Petach Tikva. The Petach Tikva municipality has closed the Jabotinsky lanes but the Transportation Ministry is expanding the Golda Meir lanes to Jerusalem's Rechov Yirmiyahu.
