President Reuven Rivlin delivered a speech at the memorial ceremony for fighters of the pre-state Irgun Zionist paramilitary organization who fell in the battle for the village of Malha.

Shlomo Goldhor, who took part in the battle for Malcha, also attended the ceremony. Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon was also present.

At the beginning of his speech, the President said: "I remember with mourning the dear Irgun fighters who fell during the battle. And I recall, unfortunately, that even after their struggle for the establishment of the state ended, the battle for their memory did not end. For many years, the Irgun was not considered as the fallen of the state, and they were absent from the Memorial prayer, and their great contribution was taken for granted in our actions, and in our devotion to the state and the people of Israel.
