Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has proposed that Member of Knesset Bezalel Smotrich (United Right) accept the Ministry of Public Security instead of the Ministry of Justice, according to Israeli public television.
Smotrich would receive equal partnership in setting policy in the Ministry of Justice together with Minister Yariv Levin and the passage of the Supreme Court-override clause. In addition, the United Right would receive two seats in the diplomatic-security cabinet, one for Smotrich and one for United Right Chairman, Rabbi Rafi Peretz.
