A Palestinian Arab was shot early in the morning on Road 57 in the Sharon area by police during the arrest of a gang of car thieves - after police said he tried to break through a police checkpoint and run over police.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died of his wounds. Two policemen were lightly injured in the incident.
