Chief-of-Staff Aviv Kochavi of the Israel Defense Forces held a video teleconference with outgoing United States European Commander Curtis Scaparrotti, to discuss ongoing bilateral military cooperation between the two nations and reaffirm the US commitment to the defense of Israel, as was reflected in the strengthening of the relations during General Scaparotti’s tenure. Gen. Scaparrotti assured Lt. Gen. Kochavi that his successor will continue to focus efforts on the relations between the nations and to maintain them as a priority.
Lt. Gen. Kohavi thanked Gen. Scaparrotti for his service, leadership and commitment to the partnership, and emphasized the importance of enhancing the military-to-military relationship with the incoming US EUCOM leadership.
