Judge Gila Kanfi-Steinitz of the Jerusalem District Court has rejected a motion to approve a class action filed by the Kohelet Forum against the Histadrut Labor Federation in the amount of NIS 4.7 billion, stating that as a workers organization, it cannot be viewed as a commercial concern against which class actions can be filed on consumer grounds.
The Kohelet Forum claimed, last May, that the Histadrut collects membership dues and organizational treatment fees that it is not entitled to collect and petitioned for the return of those dues and fees.
