Israel's Chief Rabbi David Lau expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Kaliver Rebbe: "The Admur of Kaliv was a 'firebrand rescued from the fire', a survivor who, after experiencing the horrific events of the Holocaust, took care to commemorate the heritage of Judaism through Jewish tradition. He brought many closer to their Father in Heaven and also toiled tirelessly to commemorate the martyrs of the Holocaust."
