Magen David Adom paramedics were summoned to the residence of the Admur of Kaliv and administered protracted CPR operations after his losing consciousness.
A close associate of the 96-year-old Rebbe says that until a few weeks ago he functioned as usual, but before Passover, his medical condition deteriorated.
His family asked that people pray for him. His name for prayer: Rabbi Menachem Mendel ben Bracha Freida.
