Pro-Israel and anti-BDS activist Bal Harbour Mayor Gabriel Groisman was in Israel for the festival of Passover and he wrote in response to the Chabad of Poway shooting.

"As I am leaving Israel I am feeling full of contradictory thoughts", Groisman wrote, "On the one hand, the Jewish people and the State of Israel are stronger than ever. We have so much to be proud of as a people this Passover. But, on the other hand I am filled with emotions and anger, since after the holiday ended, I connected to the Internet again only to see an antisemitic cartoon posted in the New York Times, followed shortly by yet another shooting attack at a Synagogue - this time in San Diego. One loss taken and many souls shattered".

Groisman ends with three messages: "To my friends in San Diego: You are not alone, be strong and brave. To the rest of the Jewish community: stay strong and resolute; do not cower; do not change your way of life; continue to be a light onto the nations, and be proud to be who you are. To the rest of the world: the days of Jews cowering in fear are over; we are not going anywhere. This event will only serve to make us stronger. You will never break us."
