About 750,000 people have visited the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem during Passover and its intermediate days, according to the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.

Thousands more are expected between now and the end of the Sabbath on Saturday night, which is being observed by Jews from outside Israel as the eighth day of the holiday. Christians will be observing the "Holy Fire" at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre between 10 am and 2 pm. The crossing from the Damascus Gate to Hagga Street will be open and the entrance from Jaffa Gate will be through the Jewish Quarter. The public is asked to obey the instructions of the police, the security guards and the Western Wall ushers in order to preserve the safety of the visitors and the sanctity of the place.
