Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi has congratulated city resident Gil Shlomo who was chosen to light a torch at the ceremony on Mount Herzl to kick off the upcoming Independence Day.
Davidi noted, "Gil led the 'Let's grow in quiet' march to Jerusalem demanding total quiet in our region, which is the legitimate demand of all of us. The choice of Gil is [a source of] pride for youth in the [Gaza] envelope."
