Retired Supreme Court justice and former attorney general Elyakim Rubinstein, says that the discourse surrounding the candidates for justice minister is very problematic.

Using the Yiddish word Gewald, Rubinstein told Israeli public radio, "I'm in a woeful mood for Gevald, but in a real sense, not an election campaign label. I do not know who will be appointed justice minister, but the talk about the candidates is not [in the spirit] of fixing, but of breaking. It's not that there's no room for criticism, but that's not what is happening here."
