The Israel Police have announced the arrest of the manager of an eastern Jerusalem law office and another man on suspicion of forging hundreds of drivers licenses and charging between 30,000 and 40,000 shekels for each license.
The suspects allegedly forged foreign licenses that residents of East Jerusalem would take to the Licensing Office and demand tbe changed to an Israeli license. The suspects took in more than NIS 4 million. Police raided the law office last week, after an undercover officer was able to obtain a foreign license and an Israeli license. Four people suspected of acquiring a license through the suspects have also been arrested. The Jerusalem Magistrates Court has extended the detainees' remand until Monday.
