This weekend, a large swastika was discovered on the outside wall of Goldwin Smith Hall facing the Arts Quad at the Ithaca, New York campus of Cornell University. The vandalism came on the heels of a student government decision to reject an anti-Israel divestment resolution.

A statement by the Chabad organization said, "While quickly covered over, this symbol of hate, antisemitism and violence was no doubt an attempt by a few individuals to intimidate and sow widespread fear. We welcome the swift response from President Martha E. Pollack and the investigation by the Cornell University Police Department--and their assurance that antisemitism has no place at Cornell."
