Chairman Hanan Melcer of the Central Elections Committee has rejected Knesset candidate Itamar Ben-Gvir's request to remove the block on his user profile from Facebook on the grounds that he does not have the authority to intervene in the matter.
Ben-Gvir said in response that "it is strange that in the petition of Ahmed Tibi, he actually had the authority to give instructions to Facebook and in the case of Itamar Ben-Gvir there is no authority. It is even stranger that judges who intervene in every area of the State of Israel determine in our petitions that they do not have the authority to intervene."
