United Right Knesset candidate Itamar Ben-Gvir, petitioned Central Election Committe Chairman Hanan Melcer to issue an injunction against Facebook, Facebook blocked Ben-Gvir's ability to post content and respond for seven days.
According to Facebook, the cause of the blockage is an old post from a few months ago in which Jewish leaders are seen alongside the caption: "A thousand terrorists are dead and one hair of an IDF soldier will not fall." Ben-Gvir claims that "this is blatant political harassment and dictatorial stifling a few days before the elections." The petition also claims that Facebook's behavior is "the practice of foreign interference in the elections that they have feared so much in Israel."
