The President of the State arrived this morning at Beilinson Hospital directly from the airport to be with Nechama, his wife. Her condition is stable and she is sedated and hospitalized in the cardiology intensive care unit.

The President thanked the medical staff for their dedicated care and the many citizens who expressed concern and pray for her recovery from all corners of the earth.

"I'm leaving from a visit with my wife Nechama, and I'm very encouraged. They found a heart problem in Nechama that was treated and I very much hope that when she wakes up, she'll be able to return to the healing process that began immediately after the transplant. I spent many hours flying to Israel from my diplomatic mission to Canada with deep concern, but I know that my consolation, Nechama, is a very strong woman."
