The Director-General of the Prime Minister's Office, Yoav Horowitz, announced on Monday evening that the PMO would pay the security costs of the Eurovision Song Contest, which amounts to about 1.5 million shekels.
Kan, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, responded to the announcement and said, "The Eurovision Song Contest in Israel is a national event with an exposure of about 200 million viewers. We welcome the solution and continue the momentum of production of the Eurovision Song Contest, in order to keep up with the gap created in the timetables so that everyone will enjoy a good Israeli Eurovision."
