Ailing Algerian President Abd Al-Aziz Bouteflika announced on Monday that he'll be leaving office on April 28th.

The announcement came after the head of the military said the 82-year-old leader was unfit for office and should retire after 20 years in office. Bouteflika said he would take important measures to ensure the continued functioning of state institutions during the transitional period following the end of his term.
