President Reuven Rivlin visited soldiers drafting to the IDF at the Meitav unit in Tel Hashomer this morning.
During his visit, the president met with the new recruits to the Kfir and Nahal brigades, accompanied by the head of the Personnel Directorate, Major General Motti Almoz, the head of the Planning and Personnel Directorate, Brig. Gen. Eran Shani, and the commander of the Meitav unit, Major General Yossi Matzliach.
During the visit, the president heard a review of the recruitment figures for 2019, about the innovations in the recruitment process. He spoke with the new recruits to the brigades and toured the process of soldiering that every soldier undergoes on their day of enlistment. Recruitment rates in the country currently stand at 58% for women, and 72% for men.
Today, three new immigrants, 16 lone soldiers and five minority members volunteered for the security service.
