A rabbinical court was set up on Tuesday to deal with the halakhic (Jewish legal) status of the Israelis who were killed in the recent airline crash in Ethiopia.

The establishment of the court followed a halakhic discussion in the office of Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef with members of the Interior Ministry, Foreign Ministry and ZAKA volunteers who took part in attempts to locate the victims. Immediately after the meeting, the court took testimony from the ZAKA volunteers.
