Members of the Meretz Party toured the Gaza perimeter on Tuesday morning and called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to accept an immediate cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.

Chairwoman Tamar Zandberg said, "The continued firing does not help and only increases the potential for deterioration. I call upon the government to reach a stable cease-fire and from there to immediately seek a broad arrangement that includes the rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip, the lifting of the blockade and the opening of negotiations for a political settlement. That's the only way we can save lives."
