President Reuven Rivlin spoke today, Monday, with Mayor of Eilat Meir Yitzhak Halevi and Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo Ron Huldai about the closure of Sde Dov airport
As he promised the Mayor of Eilat when he asked him to stop the hunger strike he was leading, the president called the meeting to understand the possible courses of action and how he can help.
Following the meeting, the president spoke with Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit and asked him to consider giving the outgoing government authorization to delay the implementation of the decision. In addition, the president will continue to monitor the situation and assist the mayors in their contacts with the budgets division of the Ministry of Finance, as required.
