Chairman Hanan Melcer of the Central Elections Committee has prohibited the municipality of Bnei Brak from preventing the publication of pictures of women on billboards for the Knesset elections.
Responding to a petition by the Women's Network and Meretz Party Chairwoman Tamar Zandberg, the Supreme Court justice wrote, noting the Purim holiday, "This festival emphasizes the role and importance of women, and the need to respect them and preserve their status."
