Al Arabiya reported that following weeks of protests in Algeria against the rule of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Algeria's Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaed Salah came out in support of the protesters saying that the month had been:
“marked by the deeds of noble aims and pure intentions, through which the Algerian people have clearly expressed their values and principles of sincere and dedicated work to Allah and the motherland.”
