Beit El Council head Shai Alon responded to the IDF decision to place new bullet proofing shields at key junctions in Judea and Samaria.
"To my regret, this seems like security bankruptcy," Alon said. "We value the IDF. The commanders and the soldiers invest heavily, but it seems there are those who think only in terms of how to defend and not how to attack. It's inconceivable that we should be hiding behind a bus shelter.
"I call upon the government to exercise our right here in the region, to use more aggressive measures against the terrorists, to place checkpoints at the exits and entries from Area A. Only if we are determined and aggressive as we were in the past will we succeed in eradicating terror."
