The Minister of Energy, the mayor of Jerusalem and chairman of Israel Natural Gas Lines (INGL), inaugurated the project Tuesday, which was partly built on the route of the historic Burma Road.

The project connects Hadassah, Kiryat Ha'Leom and the Knesset, the Israel Museum, universities, bakeries and other factories in the capital to natural gas. The construction of the 34-kilometer (18-inch) line began in June 2013 and was completed in October 2018 at a total cost of NIS 290 million.
