Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit has submitted to the Supreme Court his legal opinion that Hadash-Ta'al candidate Ofer Kassif should not be prevented from running for Knesset.
Writing in an appeal of the decision by the Central Elections Committee to disqualify Kassif's candidacy, Mandelblit reiterated his position before the committee that "there is no reason to prevent Dr. Cassif from running in the elections because there has not been a 'critical mass of evidence' required for his disqualification," despite his strong disagreement with statements attributed to Dr. Cassif.
