Former Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi of the Israel Defense Forces, who is in fourth place on the list of the Blue and White Party in the Knesset, admits that Blue and White candidate Avi Nissenkorn is a problematic figure in the voters' eyes.
IDF Radio played recordings of Ashkenazi responding to a woman in the audience during a party convention in Rishon Letzion. The woman claimed that she was afraid to vote for Ashkenazi's party because she did not want the Histadrut Labor Federation chairman to serve as finance minister, but the former chief of staff replied, "We are aware of this. You're not the first to ask. We are not going to implement a Histadrut policy in Blue and White. We do not intend that in Blue and White - and Nissenkorn does not intend - that there will be a culture of the [workers'] committees here."
