Minister Naftali Bennett this morning commented on the decision by Minister Regev to block the inclusion of a representative of the Diaspora Jewish communities from lighting a torch at Israel's official Independence Day celebrations, calling the move "an insult to the entire Jewish People."
"I call on the Prime Minister to overturn this ridiculous decision. As Education Minister and Diaspora Minister, I will make sure that schools in Israel will include the Diaspora communities in their ceremonies to mark Yom Ha'atzmaut. We are one people!"
