In a post on Twitter, chairman of the Labor party, Avi Gabbay attacked Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, writing:

"The children of the south pay the price of Netanyahu's political cowardice. We'll stop it. There is no country in the world that would have allowed for years a foreign entity to fire rockets and balloons at its sovereign territory without taking the initiative and changing reality. Today we introduced "Security to the South". An initiative that serves our interests and our security."
