8,000 paramedical workers - from various health professions such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and nutrition - will begin a general strike on Sunday in all government, public and municipal hospitals, including Clalit Health Services hospitals and all community institutes and clinics.

The Histadrut Labor Federation said, "The Ministry of Finance and Health and Clalit Health Services are ignoring the plight of the workers, who suffer from heavy workload and poor salary conditions." It noted, "Last May, the workers held a multi-day strike demanding that they resolve the issues and improve the workers' situation, which directly affects the quality of service provided to the patients. Despite the agreements reached and brought to an end to the strike, the agreements were not implemented and the workers' situation remains unchanged." The union accused management of foot dragging.
