National Union Chairman Bezalel Smotrich has criticized the Blue and White List for a campaign which mentions him by name when it says a vote for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is a vote for extremists.

Writing on Twitter, Smotrich said, "It took the Balagantz [play on Chairman Benny Gantz and the Hebrew word for "mess"] group very little time to adopt the Netanyahu method, whose commitment to offer an alternative was to justify their existence, and to move to a campaign of negative, divisive and inflammatory intimidation." Responding to an accusation that he would teach that women are inferior, he posted a picture of Gantz quoted in 2007 saying women serving in the Golani combat brigade was not realistic.
