The Ministry of Education has announced that despite calls by parents not to take part in the Meitzav excellence in schools examination, there was a 90% turnout.

A statement by the ministry said, "Some parents chose to take the law into their own hands and prevent children from going to school, but more than 50,000 students took part in the test out of the estimated 55,000 that were supposed to." Those who boycotted the test were protesting the results of the last exam not being publicized.
