CEO Jonathan Greenblatt of the Anti-Defamation League has asked Speaker Nancy Pelosi of the House of Representatives for a House resolution "to voice its rejection" of Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's words last week, in the context of the US-Israel relationship, that “I should not be expected to have allegiance/pledge support to a foreign country in order to serve my country in Congress or serve on committee.”

Noting that "Accusing Jews of having allegiance to a foreign government has long been a vile anti-Semitic slur," Greenblatt wrote, "As you and your fellow House Democratic leaders wrote in January in a statement regarding previous comments by Rep. Omar, 'Anti-Semitism must be called out, confronted and condemned whenever it is encountered, without exception.'
