The body of a 22-year-old lone soldier who was released from the army on mental grounds was found two days after he was reported missing, hanging in the soldier's home in Haifa, after he ended his life because of mental distress.

His body was discovered at random at the beginning of last month at the Beit Hahayal facilities in an area that was undergoing renovations. A friend of the soldier said in an interview with Israeli public radio that "no one cared for him." The friend said another soldier was rebuffed when she warned the manager of the home about the soldier's mental condition.
